Should Smoking in Public Places be Banned?
Nowadays many countries in the world have passed laws to ban smoking in public places. Some smokers claim that their rights are infringed if smoking is forbidden in public places. However, most non-smokers regard the ban as good news. As far as I’m concerned, smoking should be banned in all the public places such as restaurants, theaters and public squares。
On the one hand, smoking is harmful both for smokers themselves and others. It is reported that every year smoking causes millions of death around the world. On the other hand, smoking pollutes the air. Just imagine that you sit in a restaurant full of smoke, how can you enjoy your meal there? Besides, smoking is bad for the elevation of a country’s image in the world。

五月三十一日，六年级和一年级的同学们在分部参加了一次义卖活动。活动方法是每个班准备一个具有本班特色的商店，由本班的学生担任服务员，出售不需要的，七八成新的物品。
三十一日早晨，同学们都早早地来到了学校，忙着搬桌椅、做横幅，一些班干部不停地跑上跑下，寻找安排好的服务员分配一些简单的准备工作，或小跑着搬运要出售的物品。离活动开始还有十分钟，我们的商店就已经基本布置好了。站在校门口向大操场望去，十三个小小的商店摆满了各式各样、花花绿绿的物品，店牌上五颜六色的艺术字十分显眼，使我看了都想马上去购物了。一年级的小同学戴着各种小头饰，在他们的商店边上跑来跑去，迫不及待想要马上开始活动。
随着老师说出“活动开始”这几个字，全场沸腾了。每个同学的脸上都露出兴奋的神情。一个个小商店马上被人群包围了，售货员的吆喝声，“顾客”们的叫声、讨价声响成一片。各班分配好的人员正在工作：宣传员忙不迭地发着传单；环保员快速地从地上捡起一片片废纸；市场管理员跑到售货员面前，正在说着什么；推销员亲热地招呼着顾客……我们的老师也加入了进来。他手里拿着收款箱，一会儿拿起小饰品向同学们展示，一会儿又放开他的大嗓门吆喝，吸引了很多外班同学。
活动还在进行着，许多同学的书包已经满满的了。一个同学向我展示他买的商品---一本书、一个头饰、毛绒玩具、还有一个钥匙链。他高兴地告诉我钥匙链只花了五角钱，不但比商店里买的便宜多了，质量也不差。我也买了许多东西，其中一本名著只花了两元钱。这个价钱真的很合算。
活动结束了。各班的商品都卖完了。同学们抱着鼓鼓的书包，美滋滋地回了教室。我们班总共卖出了1100元，这可是班里所有工作人员换来的。这次义卖活动让我们体验到了劳动的乐趣，同时也为学校的建设出了一份力，真是一举两得。它令我难忘
