㈤ 如何提高英语写作能力案例分析

一、 案例背景
(一) 问题提出
语言是人们思想交流的工具,有声语言和书写语言是语言交流的两种媒介。写作是学习者英语综合能力的体现。高中英语新课程标准对写作提出了更高的要求,八级要求为“能根据所读文章进行转述或写摘要;能根据用文字级图表提供的信息写短文或报告;能写出与一连关切结构完整的短文,叙述事情或表达观点和态度;能在写作中做到文体规范、语句通顺”。但在教学中或在高考阅卷中常常发现:学生的审题能力差,偏离主题现象严重;文章词语贫乏,语言素材不丰富,句子意识差;表达不得体,结构单一,缺少连贯性,篇章意识差等等,在学生的口语表达能力有较大提高的情况下,学生的写作能力还相对滞后。可以说,长期以来,写作一直是困扰我国英语教学的一大难题。学生面对写作任务时常常不知从何下手。这一严重现象的出现,笔者认为有以下几个原因:
1.目前高中英语教学中一般不开设专门的英语写作课,没有对学生英语写作基本功进行系统训练,往往是在高考前期进行短期的突击性应试模拟训练,平时对学生写作技能的培养较少。
2.学生的阅读量小和阅读面窄,造成词汇量小,写作语言素材贫乏。
3.学生良好的阅读策略与写作策略缺少,导致学生的篇章意识差等。
为了适应发展中的社会,满足社会的需求,使高中毕业生的英语写作水平达到高中英语新课程标准的八级或九级的写作目标,高中英语教学中对学生写作技能的培养必须是长期的、有目的循序渐进的写作技能培养。阅读是语言输入的主要途径,更是写作的基础。阅读能给学生提供大量的写作素材,通过阅读,学生可以积累词汇,储存句法、语篇知识,学习遣词造句、布局谋篇的写作技巧。大量阅读又有助于培养语感,并逐步养成用英语思考的习惯。用英语写作就必须用英语思考,这与大量阅读是分不开的。否则,就会写出中文式英语。不要阅读谈写作犹如谈无米之炊。自己在教学实践中,逐步形成了以下设想:高中阶段对学生进行“多而杂”的阅读训练,即向学生提供程度相当、题材广泛的阅读材料,结合单元话题补充相应的课外阅读材料, 在阅读中扩大学生的语言词汇、强化语言结构、介绍文化背景知识篇章结构知识、训练篇章理解能力,再结合阅读指导学生写作,将阅读成果转化为写作, 提高英语写作能力。
(二)理论依据:
1.语言习得理论:美国语言学家克拉申(S. D. Krashen)在二十世纪七十年代提出了“语言习得”理论。该理论认为,人们掌握某一种语言所通过的方式主要有两种:一种是习得(acquisition),另外一种是学习(learning)。所谓“习得”是指学习者通过与外界的交际实践,无意识地吸收到该种语言,并在无意识的情况下,流利、正确地使用该语言。在英语课堂教学中,笔者认为应通过学生之间和师生之间的交流获得思维的碰撞,在这种潜移默化的语言习得中促进学生英语的学习。而“学习”是指有意识地研究且以理智的方式来理解某种语言(一般指母语之外的第二语言)的过程。学生只有在大量接触和使用真实、自然的语言中,才能养成运用英语的能力。
二、阅读与写作教学的结合案例
(一)教学设计
设计意图:运用“讨论式”的英语教学模式和采用“任务型”英语教学途径,培养同学们的听说读写能力,突出阅读和写作技能训练、学习策略的培养、阅读和写作的实践,从而使学生领会语言信息的输入与输出、阅读和写作之间的内在联系,并引导学生独立思考并以讨论、合作学习的方式练习英语写作。
(二)教材分析
1新颁布的《英语课程标准》明确指出此次英语课程改革的重点就是要改变英语教学过分重视语法和词法知识的讲解与传授,忽视对学生实际语言运用能力的倾向。强调从学生的学习兴趣、生活经验和认知水平出发,倡导体验、实践、参与、合作与交流的学习方式,发展学生的综合语言运用能力。因此,在教学中,教师不应采取满堂灌的教学模式,而应将语言的形式与意义和真实情景结合起来,提供给学生一个观察,发现,体验、实践而习得语言的平台。
2本案例的中心话题是艾滋病。通过课文学习学生知道了艾滋病是怎么一回事、艾滋病的传播途径以及目前世界上青少年患艾滋病的情况,让学生对当今世界艾滋病的现状有一个更深入的了解。在此基础上,使学生懂得设身处地地为他人着想,倾听艾滋病人的心声,并最终转化为对艾滋病人的同情和关注,高度升华了本课的主题,并取得了知识教育与道德教育的双重成功。
(三)学情分析
教学的对象是高二学生,思维活跃,他们稍微了解一些艾滋病的知识,但词汇量掌握的非常少,通过阅读课文,可极大的扩充学生这方面的词汇量,能够开展话题讨论,各抒己见。与此同时,他们具备了一定的计算机基础知识和网上搜索信息和查阅知识的能力。这些都为此写作课奠定了良好地基础。
(四)教学目标
1.知识技能:了解和掌握艾滋病的一些词汇,短语表达等,掌握课文中描绘艾滋病人相关的词汇和句型,如“With the help of 、look like 、deal with、…They work as a …、They can…and…、a deadly disease”并让学生在此基础上加以运用,完成自己的一篇演讲稿 “Cherish your life & prevent AIDS”的写作教学任务。
2.能力培养:为学生设置具体的语言环境,使学生较好地完成围绕怎样帮助艾滋病人和珍爱生命为主题的话题,培养学生的英语思维能力,语言表达能力和一定的写作能力,以及通过课堂上师生,生生互动,培养自主,合作和探究的能力。
3.情感态度:在师生互动的活动中,激发学生的学习兴趣,加强教师的亲和力,增进师生之间与生生之间的了解和沟通,充分发挥情感教学的优势。学生能在情景中分享丰富的情感体验,感受写作完成后的成功和喜悦。与此同时,通过对围绕怎样帮助艾滋病人和珍爱生命为主题的话题的讨论和写作,以培养学生的创造能力和想象能力。
(五)教学重点和难点
1.调动学生学习的积极性,让他们主动参与学习活动是教学的重点之一。
2.通过设置任务,启发学生讨论,激活学生思维,激发学生的写作兴趣,学会写作关于珍爱生命这类话题的文章。
3.在交流中培养学生的交际策略,帮助其掌握用英语表达观点和做决定的功能用语。
