高分作文首先要做到的是把虚拟的场景真实化。题目中所给出的场景让我们想到“有朋自远方来，不亦乐乎？”，想到“四川人杰地灵”，或者想到张艺谋对成都的评价“成都，一座来了就不想离开的城市”……于是整篇文章应该充满着对NICK要来的欣喜，充满着对故乡四川的热爱与骄傲。在宣传九寨沟和都江堰的时候要在字里行间体现出来。从自身的角度讲，我们给出的建议总是希望认同甚至是接受的，所以不能像范文那样平淡，否则给人的印象就是“这个也行，那个也不错，你自己看着办吧”，无论从考试技巧的角度还是真实与人交流的角度感觉都有点欠缺火候。
书信写作中必须体现的三个M原则（matter, manner, method），在范文中体现得淋漓尽致：第一句话直奔主题（matter），第二句话把赞赏对方和承上启下完美地结合起来(manner)，给人以赏心悦目的感觉。最后提到交通便利的好处，让对方感到旅游计划切实可行，体现主人的好客和细心（method），从这个意义上讲，范文绝对是成功的。
