The story may sound simple, but the truth behind the words is remarkable. When I heard the name of the film first time, I considered the Shawshank to be a man’ name, but in fact it is a jail’s name——a hell in the world. Not only for the inhumanity of the jailors——they behaved brutally;
but also for the jail gnawed at people’ heart by keeping them waiting and waiting as life passed. It seemed that only those utterly worthless people who gave up everything could survive. That’s where the story happened.
The part impressed me most is when Andy got out of the jail. He extended his arms in front of him in the heavy rain as if he were welcoming the fresh air and the freedom. At that moment, I saw the confidence win the darkness, discharging light dazzling the eyes in the dark blue sky. Under the light, I could feel my recreant heart being shivering as his voice said: “Remember, Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things and no good thing ever dies!”
That’s why I like this film: it encourages people to fight to preserve the dignity of human beings, to appreciate the beauty of life, and the most importance is to keep hope forever. He once that is born, that is die. Everyone is the same. The only difference is whether busy living or busy dying.
The film tells us that even a man can live once, but if he keeps confidence, keeps hope and works his life right, then once is enough. The congfidence is the bird that feels the light when the dawn is still dark, the hope is the chief happiness that this world affords,
nd the life should be full of the singing of the bird and the happiness hope brings. " What’s that do you think? It’s the trembling of the heart, the singing of the mind, the flying of the soul and the hope to be free.”
1.Remember, Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things and no good thing ever dies!
2.I guess it comes down to a simple choice: get busy living or get busy dying.
3.Fear can hold you prisoner ,hope can set you free. A strong man can save himself, a great man can save another.
4.Prison life consists of routine, and then more routine.
5.These walls are kind of funny like that. First you hate them, then you get used to them. Enough time passed, get so you depend on them. That’s institutionalized.
6.It takes a strong man to save himself, and a great man to save another.
7.I have to remind myself that some birds aren’t meant to be caged. Their feathers are just too bright. And when they fly away, the part of you that knows it was a sin to lock hem up DOES rejoice. Still, the place you live in is that much more drab and empty that they’re gone. I guess I just miss my friend.
8.I find I’m so excited. I can barely sit still or hold a thought in my head. I think it the excitement only a free man can feel, a free man at the start of a long journey whose conclusion is uncertain. I hope I can make it across the border, I hope to see my friend, and shake his hand. I hope the Pacific is as blue as it has been in my dreams. I hope.
9.There’s not a day goes by I don’t feel regret. Not because I’m in here, or because you think I should. I look back on the way I was then. Then a young, stupid kid who committed that terrible crime. I want to talk to him. I want to try and talk some sense to him, tell him the way things are. But I can’t. That kid’s long gone and this old man is all that’s left. I got to live with that. Rehabilitated? It’s just a bull**** word. So you go on and stamp your form, sonny, and stop wasting my time. Because to tell you the truth, I don’t give a ****.

It was as if some beautiful bird had flapped into our drab little cage an d made these walls dissolve away, and for the briefest of moments, every last man is Shawshank felt free.
12.(On playing opera records in the prison)
Andy Dufresne: Here’s where it makes the most sense. You need it so you don’t forget. Forget that there are palace in the world that aren’t made out of stone That there’s a---there’s a---there’s something inside that’s yours, that they can’t touch.

16.Norton: Pleased to see you reading this. Any favorite passages?
Andy: "Watch ye, therefore, for ye know not when the master of the house cometh."
Norton: Mark 13:35. I’ve always liked that one. But I prefer "I am the light of the world. He that followeth me shall have the light of life."

Today i saw a very shocking film ((Shawshank Redemption)), andy deeply by the strong conviction in the face of the cruel reality of the spirit is still harbor dreams, as well as superhuman intelligence and wisdom. Reid liked monologue of that sentence: "I had to remind myself that some birds can not be locked up in cages, and their feathers are too beautiful, and when they fly away, you will find them locked up is an appreciation evil. "Yes, that is andy. Sometimes reality is so cruel, bankers andy being wronged killed his wife and his lover. Had been tortured physically and mentally,Prison others were harassed and beaten, and even more painful in the wall's mental torture, as well as the tom know know the truth about the case can not reverse the verdict. But he is still so full of hope. . . . Workers in their fight for the beer, but also an opportunity to fight for their own ---- close to the governor to help him money. The last 20 years through the efforts of the hands of Reid with a buy from a small hammer to dig out of a prison outside the channel. So that it can not think of one. I think magic is more the spirit of andy appeal, he can always practice, he is encouraged by the people around, even for the time being that the spirit of freedom,As he put in the governor's Office of the plate to the music people listen to the same prison, and later released from prison so that the re-Reid to find a life of hope. . . There are even more amazing is the creative director ----- has escaped through a story has brought us so much inspiration and shock.
