The study yielded the following findings. First, with regard to the attitude towards reading, 75% of the study subjects considered that after-class reading was important and irreplaceable. Second, 76% reported that they spent at least one hour doing after-class readings each day. Third, 78% indicated that they wanted to do after-class reading, but could not afford the time e to an overload of homework. Finally, it is interesting to note that leisure and entertainment magazines are the top two most favored among the study subjects for after-class readings. The results of the study highlight the importance of after-class reading among middle/high school students and the need for the school authorities to recognize the students' wishes for having time to do after-class readings.
