螃蟹有8条腿，它的爪很细、很尖，爪上还长着一些细毛毛。它是横着走路，怪不得它在水里“横行霸道”呢！它走起路来，8条腿灵活地抬起，落下，沙沙地响。它的腹部有一个白色的脐片，像一扇大门，三角形的是公蟹，圆形的是母蟹。母蟹产的卵是黄色的，粘在一起，像很小的米粒，它的卵就藏在“大门”里面。小螃蟹刚出生就被妈妈关在“大门”里，就像小袋鼠藏在妈妈的“口袋”里一样：也许螃蟹妈妈害怕小螃蟹出来和别的“小孩”打架。螃蟹有两片方形的嘴唇，喝水时一张一合，有时还吐出一串串珍珠似的水泡儿。
