武汉火神山医院位于武汉市蔡甸区知音湖大道，是参照2003年抗击非典期间“北京小汤山医院”模版式，权在武汉职工疗养院，建设一座专门医院，集中收治新型冠状病毒肺炎患者。

医院总建筑面积3.39万平方米，编设床位1000张，开设重症监护病区、重症病区、普通病区，设置感染控制、检验、特诊、放射诊断等辅助科室，不设门诊。

2020年1月29日，武汉火神山医院建设已进入病房安装攻坚期；2020年2月2日上午，武汉火神山医院正式交付。从方案设计到建成交付仅用10天，被誉为中国速度。
