Three competing store owners rented adjoining shops in a mall. Observers waited for mayhem to ensue.
The retailer on the right put up huge signs saying, "Gigantic Sale!" and "Super Bargains!"
The store on the left raised bigger signs proclaiming, "Prices Slashed!" and "Fantastic Discounts!"
The owner in the middle then prepared a large sign that simply stated, "ENTRANCE".
前二句都是简单句，后面三句结构相同，The retailer 主语on the right 定语put up 谓语huge signs宾语 saying分词作版定语；第三权句that simply stated,用了定语从句，没有用分词作定语。

I asked （my）boss for a rise（raise涨工资） the other day. I told him in this city cost（cost 改为the expense） of living was very high.I said I had to support wife and family's cost（去掉撇号专s 和属cost，改为wife and family）,but they couldn't live on my salary.Then（my） boss told me business was very bad.But to my surprise,in the end,he agreed and offered me a big rise（raise） in salary.

在telling her that he would find her husband and her parents and that everything would be find中，属于tell sb. sth.的句型。telling非谓语动词， her 间接宾语，that he would find her husband and her parents and that everything would be find是telling的直接宾语，是一个宾语从句。这个宾语从句是用两个that宾语从句由并列连词and组成的并列句。
【句式结构】其实，整个句子除去修饰成分定语和状语后，是由“主语＋谓语＋宾语”组成的一个简单句。它属于“五大基本句型”中的第二个句型。
