英語通知屬於應用文體,它既能考察學生英文進行口頭和筆頭交際的能力,又能考察在日常生活中實際應用英文的能力。
英語通知分口頭和書面兩種,在寫作時,其格式與一般性語句的使用有所不同。
1. 口頭通知
(1) 口頭通知通常是口頭傳達的信息,敘述表達要注意盡可能地口語化,力求達到言簡意賅。
(2) 口頭通知一般不須要寫出通知的時間或發出通知的單位。
(3) 口頭通知開頭要有稱呼語,具體應根據通知的對象而定。常見的稱呼語有:Boys and girls(對象為學生), Ladies and gentlemen(對象為來賓), Comrades and friends,(對象為來賓), Teachers and fellow students(對象為學校師生), 注意寫稱呼語時,首行應頂格寫。
2. 書面通知
書面通知通常由開頭詞(Notice) 通知正文 發通知者的名稱 發通知的日期 四個部分組成。具體寫法是:
(1) 標題:在正文上面正中的地方寫上NOTICE 或 Notice。
(2) 正文:說明通知的具體時間,地點,活動內容和注意事項。
(3) 單位:發通知的單位一般寫在正文的右下角。有時也放在標題之下,作為標題的一部分。
(4) 時間:發通知的時間一般寫在正文的左下角。書面通知的正文就是通告的內容,這是主體部分,語言應簡潔明了,條理清晰,要求明確,特別是時間概念很重要,必須寫得十分明確,不容絲毫含糊。

對初中學生英語閱讀能力的培養之我見
英語閱讀技能是中學英語課程標准中「聽、說、讀、寫」四會技能中學生必須掌握的學習技能之一。閱讀能力的提高需要通過平時學生自主地大量閱讀,自然習得的一種技能。這要求教師在日常教學工作中,有目的、有計劃,系統地對學生進行有效的閱讀訓練。
一、以學生為本,培養閱讀興趣
初中生興趣廣泛,對新鮮事物充滿好奇心,求知慾,模仿能力強。陶行知說:「學生有了興趣,就肯用全部精神去做事,學與樂不可分。」針對這一點,在課內,我有意識地把各種文化背景知識滲透到閱讀教學中。如在談到the environment pollution時,讓學生了解目前的環境惡化情況,學習他國的先進環保事跡。課後,要求學生利用網路、報刊、雜志等進一步開展閱讀活動。同時,讓學生用英文設計環保海報。一系列的活動,大大地激發學生的求知慾,學生以充沛的精力,飽滿的熱情投入到這一閱讀活動中。除了引導學生閱讀與課本相關的材料外,還需拓展學生的閱讀空間。在課內,設計了課前5分鍾的讀書活動:朗讀小故事。我向學生推薦大多數學生喜歡的、關心的、符合他們需要的閱讀材料,激發他們的閱讀興趣。學生可以自由選擇符合自己能力的閱讀材料,保持他們的閱讀興趣。學生通過自主地大量閱讀,可以進一步了解外國文化,感受到英語語言的美。
二、詞彙積累有效提高英語能力
詞彙是學習語言的基礎,是閱讀訓練中關鍵的一步。有了一定的詞彙量,才能逐步提高閱讀速度。而大量的閱讀也有助於擴大詞彙量。
在日常教學中,我有意識地把英語單詞構詞法融入單詞教學中,讓學生掌握常用前綴(un-/dis-/im-/pre-/re-等)後綴(-able/-ly/-less/-ful等)的含義及用法。與此同時,教會學生用聯想,新舊詞結合,簡筆畫等記憶法來記憶新單詞。針對學生背單詞遺忘率高的問題,除了加強聽寫活動外,在課堂教學中,我盡量用英語教學,對每一篇課文的導入語精心設計,把已學信息有機地與未學的知識結合,配合聽力游戲,角色扮演,造句練習等活動,讓學過的知識從不同渠道傳送給學生,刺激學生的不同興奮點,讓其在無意與有意中涉取到大量的語言信息。
三、扎實掌握語法知識
掌握了一定的詞彙量,還要重視對文章句子的理解。因此,教師在平時的教學中要注意引導學生對復雜的句子結構進行分析,只有把句子的成分一一理清,才能掌握其意,以降低理解文章的難度。1.逐步滲透,自然習慣。對於語法項目,我根據大綱要求,針對課文教學重點設計任務,讓學生在反復閱讀文章後,找出需要他們掌握的語法項目,然後通過自我歸納,老師釋疑、總結,再結合句型操練,情景對話或復述使學生對所要掌握的知識深入了解。2.提煉句型,列出公式。有些語法項目採用句型或公式套用的方式省時省心。例如在講解「花費」這一用法時,在列公式以前引導學生觀察和分析例句,列公式時同時講清各部分的語法功能及意義。
四、培養良好閱讀習慣,掌握閱讀技巧
初中學生在閱讀過程中,有指讀、輕聲朗讀、回視的不良習慣,在教學中老師要有意識地控制其行為和糾正。同時,指導學生採用正確的閱讀技巧和策略。閱讀分為「泛讀」和「精讀」兩種。在教學中,我力求每一篇文章都讓學生帶著任務或問題去讀,有目的的,在限定的時間內完成任務。一篇課文是一個語言知識和思想的整體。對於課文教學我採用「總分總」的模式。對「聽、說、讀、寫」技能的培養各有側重。先讓學生在整體上領會課文大意,再對各知識點精講精練,讓學生感到不是為了學語法而學課文。
