These days, I spend most of my free time at the local archery club. I started archery a few months ago, when I saw the Australian team take out the gold medal at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi. Many people think that shooting an arrow is very simple - you just pull back the string and then let it go! Not so, I'm afraid. As with any sport, being average is simple, but becoming convincingly and consistently proficient is no walk in the park. Learning to judge distance, wind speed, building up back muscles, selecting and operating your equipment and perfecting the all important shooting method takes years of practice. All the drama aside though, I thoroughly enjoy archery on its own terms. There are days when it is pouring rain, and I am alone on the field, and all I can hear is the zip of the arrow, followed by the reassuring thud of it hitting the target hundreds of feet away. It makes me feel strong and calm at the same time, like the Robin Hood of old or an Amazonian warrior princess.

Activities after Class
I am a primary school student. In school, I have four classes in the morning
and two in the afternoon. Usually, the classes are over at about half past
four. So I have much time to have fun. We students have many activities after
class. For example, I like playing badminton and table tennis. Some of my
classmates like playing basketball and football. There is a gym in my school.
It』 a popular place, too. My school encourages students to do exercise
after class. So my school provides us many places and equipment. I like
taking part in various activities after class. It makes me happy.

My spare time is full of interesting activities. I read all kinds of books in the reading-room whenever I have time. I learn a lot more in the library than in class in this way. Sports and games keep me healthy and strong enough to deal with all difficulties. Among all games， volleyball is my favourite. I often play volleyball with my classmates. Sometimes I go in for social practice with my classmates outside school. For example， we go to plant trees in spring. In this way， I gain a lot of social experience and leam to work for the good of the society.

Out-of-class activities are quite necessary fur us students. Trirough these activities we can leam many things that can t be learned in class.
