1.There are still many problems of environmental protection in recent years. One of the most serious problems is the serious pollution of air, water and soil. the polluted air does great harm to people's health. The polluted water causes diseases and death. What is more, vegetation had been greatly reced with the rapid growth of modern cities.
To protect the environment, governments of many countries have done a lot. Legislative steps have been introced to control air pollution, to protect the forest and sea resources and to stop any environmental pollution. Therefore, governments are playing the most important role in the environmental protection today.
In my opinion, to protect environment, the government must take even more concrete measures. First, it should let people fully realize the importance of environmental protection through ecation. Second, much more efforts should be made to put the population planning policy into practice, because more people means more people means more pollution. Finally, those who destroy the environment intentionally should be severely punished. We should let them know that destroying environment means destroying mankind themselves.
2.The earth is our home and we have the ty to take care of it for ourselves and for our later generations. Fortunately, more and more people have realized these problems. Measures have been taken to cope with these problems by the government. Laws have been passed to stop pollution. I hope the problem will be solved in the near future and our home will become better and better

There are people who have made a success out of a single opportunity because they are always prepared and are ready to take on any opportunity that fate throws at their faces.Bill Gates is one such example.When facing a godsend oppportunity to revolutionise the computer instry,he did not hesistate and quit Harvard to set up his own business，an action considered crazy by most people at that time.But who would realise that when they were criticising his stupidity,Bill Gates had quietly paved the way to success?
On the other hand,there are some people who are,as the saying goes,"sleeping when fortune knocks on the door".Such people surely cannot expect to make a fortune overnight.When there is a new opportunity,the brave seize it and develop a future out of it,while the timid stand and stare.The latter end up with a life filled with routine and few expectations.
For me,I personally believe that there is no risk that is too great to take,but there is also the mindset that you need to have in order to brace new opportunities.People admire Bill Gates because they know that they themselves would not dare to take the same course of action if they were presented with such an unsure opportunity.This just shows the most general attitude towards opportunity--it's a good thing,but may not be worth the risk to take.I agree.I like hearing stories about how people rocket to stardom or success by seizing upon chance but deep inside I know that I would never master the courage to do the same.However,I am different from some people in the sense that while I don't dare to take the opportunity,I do not blame myself for not trying after someone else has made a fortune out of it.I know myself and I respect my decision.
After all,the brave are only few among us.We,as ordinary people,are happy to live with what we have.

Not allowing smoking in public places and office building is a very good rule. I believe this for several reasons .Not only will banning smoking improve people』 health, it will also increase worker proctivity and rece conflicts.
we all know smoking is not healthy. Unfortunately, when smokers are able to smoke in public buildings, they can make other people sick . They may work with people who are allergic to smoking, for examples. In that case , the non-smokers have no choice unless they want to quit their jobs. They can only get sicker , which is unfair .Of course , banning smoking in public buildings and offices will please non-smokers. It will also improve the smokers』 health. They will have fewer opportunities to smoke, so they will smoke fewer cigarettes.
Banning smoking in office buildings can also increase worker proctivity. Smokers won』t interrupt their work all the time to smoke. There will also be fewer worker absences. When smokers cut down the number of cigarettes, they will get fewer smoking related illnesses.
Finally, it is a good idea to ban smoking in public places and office buildings because a ban can rece conflicts. Non-smokers tend to get annoyed and jealous because smokers have an excuse to take frequent breaks .The most significant conflict, however, is over whether smokers have a right to smoke in public . As we have already seen, non-smokers feel they are not always given a choice. If smoking in public is allowed , they will be forced to breathe harmful air. This may violate their rights, and non-smokers are angry with smokers because of it.
It seems clear that banning smoking n public places and office buildings is a good idea. It will rece conflict and increase proctivity. It will also benefit health of smokers and non-smokers alike. I believe that just about anything that improve our health is a good idea!
