科技發展弊大的事例
首先，科技發展帶來最大的弊端是：使我們的人身安全越來越沒保障。在第二次世界大戰中，美國為了迫使日本迅速投降，1945年8月6日8時15分，廣島市內投下一顆代號為「小男孩」的鈾彈，造成廣島市24．5萬人中的20萬人死傷，整個城市化為廢墟。
1945年8月9日上午11時02分，繼襲擊廣島之後，美軍對日本實施第二次原子彈襲擊，目標是長崎。轟炸造成長崎市23萬人口中的10萬餘人當日傷亡和失蹤，城市60％的建築物被毀。 廣島和長崎因原子彈轟炸造成的傷害遺留至今，倖存者飽受癌症、白血病和皮膚灼傷等輻射後遺症的折磨。截至2007年8月，據日本有關部門統計，廣島、長崎因受原子彈爆炸傷害而死亡的人數已分別超過25萬和14萬。當初研發了核武器，使科技有了一個飛躍性的發展。可現在，就是因為核武器，不少人失去生命、失去家庭。
無獨有偶。科技發展帶來的弊端二：隨著科學技術水平的發展和人民生活水平的提高，環境污染也在增加，特別是在發展中國家，環境污染問題越來越成為世界各個國家的共同課題之一。由於人們對工業高度發達的負面影響預料不夠預防不利，導致了全球性的三大危機：資源短缺、環境污染、生態破壞。
1:環境污染.這個是最直接的也是最顯眼的壞處.
2:物種滅絕加快.這是由環境污染和人類的捕殺所造成的.也屬於科技發展的壞處.
3:人身安全越來越沒保障.現在平均每天都有數以萬計的犯罪行為發生.而其犯罪手段大多都與當下時新科技相關.尤其是槍械犯罪,更是讓普通人民防不勝防.而從第二次世界大戰我們已經可以看出,隨著科技的發展,現在的戰爭所造成的破壞與損失以遠遠不是以前可比.甚至有可能造成人類滅亡的命運.
4:人類身體素質大不如前.隨著科技發展,氣車,火車,飛機等各種交通工具的出現使人類的日常生活發生了重大改變,人類已經不再總是依賴自己的兩條腿,因而現在的人類的身體素質和以前相比已經是不能相提並論.以前項羽"力拔山河氣蓋兮"在當今的社會已經是不可能再出現.而這種情況繼續發展下去則有可能使人的四肢萎縮,使人類出現一個新的形態.
5:各種新興病菌不斷出現,很多病菌的殺傷力已經遠遠超過以前的病菌的破壞力.這是由於醫葯科技的迅速發展加快了病毒的變種.以至於科技的發展速度已經跟不上病毒的變種速度.或許有一天人類會滅亡於某一場大的瘟疫. 每個新人對這個世隨著經濟的發展、人民生活節奏的加快和生活水平的提高，塑料的用量與日俱增。1996年，我國的塑料包裝用量達243萬噸，年平均增長率超過 20％，特別是城市、主要交通沿線、旅遊景點的垃圾中塑料廢棄物迅速增加。據調查，北京的生活垃圾年產量已達300萬噸，其中廢塑料約佔3％，年增
長率達48％。沿海地區城市的垃圾中塑料成分更高，達8－10％。這些廢 塑料在垃圾中占的比例若以體積計算，已達三分之一以上，而且大大增加了 垃圾處理的難度和費用
生物武器和生物恐怖的潛在威脅
20世紀整個國際社會為禁止生物武器進行了不懈的努力，取得了一些進展。然而，進入21世紀，生物武器的潛在威脅卻已大大增加，一些國家和地區可能仍在繼續研製和發展生物武器，另外生物技術的迅速發展大大增加了生物武器的潛在威脅，以美國「炭疽事件」為標志的生物恐怖對國際安全已經構成了現實威脅。香港大學微生物學系主任袁國勇是首位分離出冠狀病毒，並發現冠狀病毒變種是SARS病原的學者。SARS病毒屬於RNA病毒，這種病毒的特性就是很容易與其他病毒基因進行重組，進而變成為新病毒。而且許多實驗結果也顯示，以這改變方式產生的新病毒，毒性會比親代病毒更強。許多動物身上都可以找到冠狀病毒，而這種病毒又很容易出現變種，極具危險性。因此，袁國勇認為SARS病毒很有潛質，成為除了天花以外製作生化武器的病原。
