二、問題研究的提出及進展情況.
一直以來,培養英文寫作能力主要依靠英語課本進行,可利用的資源十分匱乏,學生的寫作能力難以得到有效的提高.在英語教學實踐過程中,通過借鑒和總結,逐漸感覺到英文報刊對於提高學生英文寫作能力具有十分重要的作用.當然,英文報刊並不是提高中學生英語寫作能力的唯一途徑,但是英文報刊對於提高中學生英文寫作能力卻是最佳最有效的途徑之一,因為通過閱讀一些名著的英語簡寫本,看一些通俗易懂的英文雜志,對於提高對英語語言的認知能力、不斷的積累詞彙和英語習慣表達方式,進一步體會和領悟作者傳遞信息和表達思想感情的方法,之後用英語來表述寫作等就有水到渠成之效果,這樣就也可以大大的提高了中學生的英語寫作能力,並在很大程度上規避了中文寫作習慣對英語寫作水平的影響；鑒於此作為一名英語教師提出要不斷地閱讀英文報刊,為英文寫作提供語言、內容、修辭等方面的輸入和範本,從而提高其英文寫作能力.
首先,英文報刊作為一種時事英語,不僅話題新穎,從校園熱點、文化知識、到休閑閱讀等內容廣泛,而且文章短小精悍,迎和現代生活節奏,容易讓人接受,能夠與學生產生共鳴,從而進一步激發學生對閱讀材料的濃厚興趣,因為興趣是寫作的最大動力,也就能使學生集中注意力,進而情緒高漲,因此隨著學習興趣和主動性的明顯提高,再加上閱讀了不同題材,拓展了知識面,學生的英文寫作水平及深度就會有明顯的提升,順其自然學生的英文寫作能力也就有了不同程度的提高.
其次,英文報刊能夠比較及時地反映英語的發展和變化,有助於英語詞彙和短語的不斷更新.就其豐富的詞彙而言,21世紀英語具備任何一門英語課都不具備的優越性：在今天的信息時代,新的詞彙隨著信息爆炸而不斷出現,其中有些十分有用而又不是過於專業化的詞彙往往最早出現在新聞傳播媒介上,並由此進入千家萬戶,比如,中國的唐詩在某些西方國家很流行,高二第二期的閱讀材料Moon comes round full circle中,有關「但願人長久,千里共嬋娟」的翻譯,Though miles apart, we』ll share the beauty she display.有關最新科技動態及產品的詞彙一般都最先出現在新聞中,才逐漸被人們接受.相當一部分的詞彙剛在新聞英語中出現時在字典中是查不到的,如,glocalization這個詞,它是由英語單詞global和local(ization)這兩個詞合成而來,可以猜測,這個詞與全球和本土有關,可以翻譯成「球土化」,它指的是一種文化現象,即帶有本土和民族特色的東西逐漸被全球接受；比如,中國的唐裝在某些西方國家流行,蘊涵中國傳統武術文化的電影在國際電影界的備受矚目等.從新聞英語諸多的新鮮詞彙中,我們不僅可以鍛煉學生的詞彙學習技巧,而且也能更多地了解世界.所以在教學實踐中,每周開一節報刊寫作課,旨在通過報刊閱讀,在提高學生閱讀興趣的基礎上,幫助學生掌握有效的寫作方法,提高學生的寫作能力.因此,通過實踐,我們可以看到英語報刊閱讀作為輔助教學的工具有很多不可替代的優勢.
最後,英文報刊中豐富的文章結構、體裁、與此相適應的語言風格、詳細闡述或敘述的角度和方法、文化多樣化的接觸,有助於學生建立不同文體風格圖式、利用多渠道信息完成具有特定交際目的作文的能力,同時廣泛的英文報刊閱讀還有助於學生了解不同文化框架下的文本存在方式.因為在非自然英語環境中,英語學習者只有通過閱讀才能接觸大量的、地道的書面語言,也只有在有足夠量的輸入前提下才會有輸出,才會有較高水平的英文文章的問世.
