早晨，我很早就起了床，因為今天由我來當一天「小家長」。媽媽走過來，笑著對我說：「今天這個家就交給你了！」
「Yes sir！」我自信的回答道，「看我的！」
首先，我要做早餐。今天的早餐是牛奶和蛋，牛奶倒容易，用奶粉泡點開水，可是雞蛋呢？我可從來沒有做過呀！要不，乾脆請教媽媽吧！不行，今天是我當家，怎麼可以請教別人呢？於是，我回憶起媽媽的樣子，少了一鍋開水，然後又選了五個蛋，放在裡面。漸漸的，鍋里的水沸騰了起來，蛋在裡面滾來滾去，好像在說：「太熱了！太熱了！救命！救命！」
這時，我把它們撈了起來，裝進了碗里，終於，這頓早餐做好了，我總算鬆了一口氣。可是，還不能鬆懈，我還得做中餐呢！
到了10點鍾，我准時出去買菜了。來到菜市場，也許是第一次來買菜，也許是肩上的任物太艱巨，今天的才好像格外的多：活蹦亂跳的魚兒，在水裡游來游去，；有綠油油的大白菜，穿著綠色的裙子；有水靈靈的蘿卜，靜靜的躺在台上睡懶覺；有綠色的青椒，成群的玩著游戲；有又紅又大的西紅柿，穿著鮮紅的連衣裙跳著舞……看得我眼花繚亂。
我帶著50元錢，在菜市場了逛來逛去，感覺我好像特別富裕，也特別的自豪。買點什麼呢？這時候，我聽到了幾聲叫賣聲：「白菜，新鮮的白菜！」
有了，就買白菜吧，反正我也只會炒白菜，「白菜多少錢？」我用株洲話問她。
「1.1元一斤。」
我順勢說道：「1.1元？太貴了吧！1.0元！」可是，她卻硬不肯。經過這樣一來一去，我終於以1.0元一斤買了下來。
接著，經過我的精心挑選，我又買了一點豆腐。然後，就提著今天中午的伙食回了家，一看鍾，11點了。我趕緊放下東西開始做飯。
中午在媽媽的指點下我在廚房裡忙得不亦樂乎。首先是煮飯，我把米洗了幾遍後，再放到電飯煲里加水煮。然後開始做「煎豆腐」。因為是第一次做飯，媽媽就在一旁指導我：「要合理安排時間，你在煎豆腐時，不用在旁邊一直守著，只要記住按時翻，你就可以准備下一道菜需要的東西。」我馬上就照著她講的話去做，准備我要做的下一道菜——「清炒白菜苔」。我先把紅菜苔一段一段摘好，洗干凈。可是，我一干起來，把豆腐給忘了，鍋里的豆腐已經煎黑了，失敗！第二道菜做的還可以，就是鹽放得太多了。我把前兩道菜端上了桌，然後開始做下面的菜。下一道菜是炒花菜。同樣，我先把油放進去，熟了後，把菜放了進去，加上作料，完工！做這一頓中餐花了一個小時。 雖然味道不是很好，但還是要吃啦！
晚上6點鍾回來，我又開始准備晚餐。這次我吸取中午的教訓，4到菜里有2道冷盤。我在廚房裡忙活了一陣，就弄完了。
今天過的還真是快呀！轉眼，從早上就到晚上。吃晚飯後，我又開始打掃家裡，把桌子擦得一塵不染，把地掃得一干二凈，然後又噴灑了一點空氣清新劑。
我今天當了一天「小家長」，雖然覺得很累，但是增強了我的勞動觀念，培養了我的動手能力，讓我真正體會到了爸爸、媽媽做家務勞動的辛苦，真是「不當家不知柴米貴」，柴、米、油、鹽、醬、醋、茶，看似簡單做起來難，這裡面還真是有不少學問呢！
