2、買一台錄音機，找一合磁帶。根據你的水平，可以選擇新概念第二或第三冊，也可以到圖書館借一套有書和磁帶的小故事集。注意：一定要有書，故事篇幅不能太長，生詞量要小，過於簡單沒有關系。我傾向於使用故事，而不是對話或新聞聽力材料。
3、進行跟讀訓練。放磁帶，看著書，搞明白每一個單詞的意思，理解整個故事情節。然後，放一句，暫停，學著人家讀一句，然後，放下一句，暫停，再學一句，繼續。
4、跟讀過程中要注意的幾點：
（1）一定要盡力模仿發音和語調，越象越好。
（2）開始時速度可以比較慢，要逐步使自己跟上人家的速度。
（3）中間可以回倒重放，但我傾向於讓大家完成一小段後再回去重來。
5、同步閱讀。當你對文章發音、語調完全掌握之後，就要在放錄音的同時同步跟讀。爭取讓自己的聲音與他完全重合。注意語調和語音。如果中間有結巴的地方也不要緊，繼續讀下去，然後再回來重讀。

學習英語的重要性已經是不言而喻的了，可實際生活中，由於對口語、聽力訓練不夠，大部 分高中畢業生、非英語專業大學本科畢業生口語發音不準、說話不流利且聽力太差，無法用英語進行交流。這里我向大家介紹學習英語口語的兩大法寶：科學聊天法與句子庫法。
日常會話屬於非正式口語。平時多去英語角，多與人用英語聊天，是練習英語會話的不二法門。可聊天畢竟是為了學習口語，當然也要注意方法，即科學聊天法，方法實際上也很簡單：
1）方法：a.聊天前做好主題准備工作，包括了解話題、查找所涉及的單詞、准備能套幾十個常用句型備用。b.身上裝上一本15000詞左右的英漢小詞典和一本1萬詞條左右的漢英小詞典。c. 聊天過程中不要怕在對方面前查字典。無關緊要的話可以想法用其它句子說清楚，關鍵的詞則一定要查字典。d.聊完天後應對從今天聊天中學到的單詞、表達法、句型進行登記總結，並背下來。
2）注意事項：a.復習預習工作一定要做，只有這樣每一次聊天才會有較大的收益。b.不要怕丟面子。成年人學英語最大的敵人是自己，尤其是自己的「面子」。c.自我對話與口頭作文也是一種很好的口語訓練法。
一般會話，非正式口語就足夠了，可要參加技術交流、商務會談、正式會議等，練好正式的口語就很有必要了，這就是句子庫法。方法如下：a.在閱讀過程中、從書本例句中、從對話中看、聽到地道、標准、典型、或優美的句子摘抄下來。b.將每一個摘抄的句子分別記在不同卡片或紙條上隨身攜帶。c.隨時取出盡量做到大聲、快速、清晰地讀幾遍。d.經常回憶所記的句子。e.積累到一定量後分類總結設立「自己」的句子庫。
注意事項：a.一定要是 「自己」的句子庫，現有的這類辭典由於你未背熟所以不是你「自己的」，不過可利用它來對句子進行分類摘抄，以便查找。b.一定要對句子達到隨口而出的地步。c.背誦的詩歌、文章也屬「句子庫」范疇。d.對自己背的句子、文章還可採用復述的方式來鍛煉自己的表達能力，這對自己的語法、單詞量、反應速度都是很好的考驗。
在實際生活中，在各種不同的情景或場合、對不同的對象表達某一意念時常使用的習慣用語並不太多。這些用語大多具有固定的句型，往往不能用漢譯英的方式直譯出來。一個對口語句型熟練的人，只要掌握了2500～3000個常用詞和短語，就能較自由地表達自己的思想。在學漢語時，我們知道「熟讀唐詩三百首，不會做詩也會吟」，英語學習也是這樣，可以這么說，如能熟背英語三百句，口語交流基本沒問題。更何況那些優美的句子還會給人帶來美的享受呢！還需要注意的是，為了很好地進行口語會話，需要記憶一些過渡性、裝飾性詞語和插入語句。
對話總是雙向的，除了說得出，還要能聽得懂。想練好聽力，只有靠多聽。需要提醒大家的是，由於英語已經成為一種國際性語言，大多數國家的商務、技術人員都會說，可是由於受母語影響，很多國家和地區的人發音並不很准確，甚至以英語為母語的國家也有地方口音——就如我國各地的方言一樣。例如，蘇格蘭人通常會吞掉一些音節，澳大利亞人常將「today」說成 「todie」；不少紐西蘭人把「set」說成「sit」；拉丁語系的人說英語，有r結尾的單詞往往加上小舌顫音；日本人說英語r與l分不清；東南亞的人說英語往往夾雜著本國母語的語調，而且t音常用d來代，等等。在對話時應注意，而且平時也應適當聽聽這些國家的英語台作為練習。
