In England recently three foreign gentlemen came to a bus stop and waited . About five minutes later, the bus they wanted came along. They were just going to get on when suddenly there was a loud noise behind them. People rushed onto the bus and tried to push them out of the way . Someone shouted at them. The bus conctor came rushing down the stairs to see what all the trouble was about. The three foreigners seem all at sea and looked embarrassed (窘迫的 . No one had told them about the British custom (習慣)of lining up for a bus that the first person who arrives at the bus stop is the first person to get on the bus .
Learning the language of a country isn't enough. If you want to have a pleasant visit, find out as much as possible about the manners and customs of your host country. You will probably be surprised just how different they can be from your own. A visitor to India would do well to remember that people there consider it impolite to use the left hand for passing food at table. The left hand is supposed to be used for washing yourself. Also in India, you might see a man shaking his head at another to show that he doesn't agree. But in many parts of India a shake of the head means agreement. Nodding (點頭) your head when you are given a drink in Bulgaria will most probably leave you thirsty .
In that country, you shake your head to mean 'yes'- a nod means 'no' . At a meal in countries on the Arabic Peninsula, you will find that your glass is repeated refilled as soon as you drink up . If you think that you have had enough , you should take the cup or glasses in your hand and give it a little shake from side to side or place your hand over the top.
In Europe it quite usual to cross your legs when you are sitting talking to someone even at an important meeting. Doing this in Thailand, however, could bring about trouble . Also, you should try to avoid (避免)touching the head of an alt (成人) --it's just not done in Thailand .

4.A。 In Europe it is quite usual to cross your legs When you are sitting talking to someone even at an important meeting.

"Well," said Tom, taking two dollars out of his pocket. "Here's your money. These trousers were hanging outside your shop. The list price (標價)of them was six dollars and a half. But I thought that was too much money, so I wanted to find out how much they were really worth."

D. Tom bought the trousers four dollars and a half
How much will you give me for these?"

「Life is speeding up. Everyone is getting unwell.」
This may sound like something someone would say today. But in fact, an unknown person who lived in Rome in AD 53 wrote it.
We all love new inventions. They are exciting, amazing and can even change our lives. But have all these developments really improved the quality of our lives?

Picture this. You』re rushing to finish your homework on the computer. Your mobile phone ring;
a QQ message from your friend appears on the screen; the noise from the television is getting louder and louder. Suddenly the computer goes blank and you lose all your wrk. Now you have
to stay up all night to get it done. How happy do you feel?
Inventions have sped up our lives so much that they often leave us feeling stressed and tired. Why do you think people who live far away from noisy cities, who have to no telephones, no cars, not even any electricity often seem to be happier? Perhaps it』s because they live simpler lives.
One family in the UK went
「back in time」to see what was like without all the inventions we
have today. The grandparents, with their daughter, and grandsons Benjamin, 10, and Thomas, 7, spent nine weeks in a 1940s house.
They had no washing machine, microwave, computer or mobile phones.
The grandmother, Lyn, said,
「Themore things you have, the more difficult life becomes.」
They boys said they fought less. Probably, they said, because there was less to fight over, such as their computer. Benjamin also noticed that his grandmother had changed from being a 「trendy, beer-drinking granny, to one who cooked things.」

If you want to pick your favorite animal, what animal would be, and why? Orangutans, because they are the world's most moderate animals. Holding an abandoned baby orangutans in your arms, it trusted with a pair of brown eyes watching you, it really can change the experience of a lifetime.

I learned from these people was a lot of inspiration, I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to contact these people in the field and work. For example, like Leijinafeila (Regina Frey), she is responsible for Switzerland's sustainable development and cultural exchange Foundation (Paneco Foundation). From the days of their youth, she Sumatra for the orangutans to take care of the abandoned baby orangutans, single-handedly raising them grow up, and then release them. Nearly 30 years later, she still continue to work to protect the Sumatra orangutan. This is the sacrifice and dedication!
We the audience can do to help animals? If you want to save the animals, in the time still have time, we must take action now. The simplest is in the selection of furniture, you can do great changes. In shopping, you must know that wood come from. If it is from Indonesia, it is not determined from the illegal timber trade. If it is illegal buying and selling, you want to buy the coffee table was once a orangutans home!
