我們的身體每天持續不斷的分裂著細胞。當衰老細胞徹底死亡脫落後，新的細胞會在相同的地方生長。每個人究其一生會生長出重達18公斤的皮膚細胞。起初當傷口不存在時表皮細胞是緊密相連的。當你受傷時，就會傷害到你的皮膚細胞。一個小傷口不會對你造成過大的傷害。你的皮膚細胞會迅速的分裂新的皮膚細胞而使傷口癒合。那麼皮膚細胞是如何起到這種作用的呢。首先，距離傷口較近的細胞會逐漸分裂而逐漸靠近傷口。然後這些分裂的細胞會在傷口的中間接觸。他們會形成新的皮膚細胞層。最後新的細胞將會不斷的成長分裂直到傷口徹底消失。通過這種方式，你的皮膚會不斷的更新而自己癒合。
這些微小的細胞是多麼的奇妙啊！如果下次你受傷了，不必為它們擔心。也許在未來的幾天內，你就會驚訝的發現它已經自動癒合了。
