幾年來，河北這所「超級中學」，一直與「北大」、「清華」、「狀元」、「奇跡」等詞彙聯系在一起。
去年高考，衡水中學考取清華、北大70人，占兩所學校在河北招生人數的一半左右。
再之前，從2008年至2011年，衡水中學考入清華、北大278人。
如今，「衡水現象」備受矚目，衡水中學不僅在當地招生，還吸引周邊地市的大量「尖子生」。一位來自石家莊的學生說，他們班上，有20來個外地同學；還有學生說，他們班上還有從北京來的。
「衡水」輝煌
衡水中學每年有大量學生考上名校；10年來，到「衡中」學習的外地官員、師生約17萬人
5月27日，李梓華(化名)坐了5個多小時火車，從唐山到衡水中學，路途輾轉。
李梓華是初三中學，以她的成績，能考上當地重點高中。但去年，當地高中沒有一個學生達到清華的錄取線。
李梓華想上清華，所以到衡水中學，咨詢是否能來讀高中。
衡水中學位於衡水市區東南部，周圍與平房相伴。其破舊的大門和斑駁的牆壁，很難看出這里有多麼特別。
但是，貼滿清華北大學生照片的校園圍牆，綿延近百米；校門口，還有兩幅巨大的高考成績宣傳展板。
2011年的高考，該校的成績近乎瘋狂：除包攬河北省文理科第一名，還有7人、6人分別進入省文理科前10名。在省前200名中，衡水中學的學生佔了近一半。
有人開玩笑說，在這個開車半小時就能穿越的小地級市，沒有幾個熟人上清華北大都不好意思出門。
衡水中學宣傳處主任張永說，在河北，衡水高考成績已遠超過其他地區了。這跟衡水經濟在河北省的排名非常不相稱。
因為衡水高考成績突出，一個全國性的高中校長論壇決定在衡水中學舉行。校長張文茂一再要求減少參會人數，原因是「衡水市區的賓館住不下」。
去年衡水中學承辦會議，即使賓館都被包下來，還是有不少與會者需要到幾十公里以外的縣城住宿，很不方便。
張永笑稱，衡水中學為衡水的賓館作出了很大貢獻。10年來，單單是來衡水中學參觀學習的外地官員、師生就有17萬人，他們一住就是幾天，這是筆不小的收入。
「做題潛力挖到極致」
有老師稱，衡中學生，連等待打飯的時間都要被利用做題
「他們到底有什麼絕招？一句話，衡水中學把學生做題的潛力挖掘到極致了。」邢台的一名高中教師，這樣評價「衡中經驗」。
衡水中學，每天13節課，6節正課，由老師上課講解；7節自習課，大部分時間用來做題。上述邢台的高中老師說，他聽學生講，「衡中的學生，連等待打飯的時間都要被利用上做題」。
「用各種各樣的方式重復。」一名曾在衡水中學教語文的老師說。
除學科自習外，其他自習課，老師不允許進教室。在學科自習上，老師也不允許統一講解。對學生單一輔導時，老師的聲音放到最低，不能影響其他人。
上述語文老師介紹，到高二結束，基本學完高中課程，高三全年都在復習。復習有三輪，各有重點。同時會做大量模擬考題。
因高考成績優異，衡中的高三習題被傳得很神秘。衡水中學不用市面上現成的習題，宣傳處主任張永介紹，衡中的習題都是經過老師精心挑選的。「原來做5套題才能達到的效果，現在做一套就行了。」
對於題量，曾經有個說法：如果一套題70%的學生答完了，那就是不合格的，因為這說明很多學生的時間被浪費了。
來自石家莊的一名學生家長起初並不贊成讓兒子大量做題，但是同事女兒的經歷讓她改變了想法。這個女孩在石家莊上學，成績不錯，平時做題不多。去年高考時因很多題型沒見過，一下子蒙了，結果只考了三本。「做得多了，才能不慌」。
「每天反省很必要」
學校的氛圍讓學生覺得，「不好好學習，對不起同學」
因為奧賽獲獎，衡水中學高三學生李秋宇已被保送清華大學。這些天，他沒離開學校，他成了「老師」，負責輔導高二奧賽練習。
李秋宇喜歡「有規律的生活」：早上5:30起床，然後跑早操。
衡水中學高二學生王奕文也喜歡跑操，認為喊口號，「很提神」。
她說每天早晨5點半起床並不難，聽到鈴聲就會醒，這是「條件反射」。然後十分鍾洗漱，開始跑步。
跑步前，有大概5分鍾的集結時間。這個時間她和同學們都會帶著學習資料，「背一個單詞都是收獲」。「從這一天開始，就要把思維帶到學習上來。」
之後是語文和英語的早讀時間。王奕文說，大聲朗讀，會幫助提神。
由此，全天13節課開始，直到晚上10點半。有學生說，學校的氛圍讓他覺得，「不好好學習，對不起同學」。
這樣的作息時間，在衡水的各所高中，基本是通用的。
在衡水中學高二年級的教學樓，大廳牆上有三句話：我來衡中做什麼，我要做一個什麼樣的人，我今天做得怎麼樣。這被稱為每日「三思」。

「天下第一操」
學生跑操「有一股子壓倒一切的氣勢」
高一到高三，衡水中學的學生們，吃、住都在校園，每兩周放假過一次周末。
在不放假的周末，學生們要和平時一樣學習。
據介紹，在衡水市，另有一些高中，一個月放一次周末假。
「跑操」，是衡水中學的一個符號，相關視頻在網上流傳後，被稱為「天下第一操」。
跑操的時候，每個班學生組成一個方陣，繞操場跑圈。隊伍緊湊，間距一致，步伐一致，速度一致。除了喊「一二三四」，還喊著「超越自我，挑戰極限」等口號。
張永說，不做廣播體操，是因學生多，場地不夠，學生又要鍛煉身體，只能跑跑步。結果，現在其他學校都在學「跑操」。
前任校長李金池說，北京海淀的高中校長團曾到該校參觀。聽說大課間不做廣播操而是跑操，非要親眼看一看。
「看著看著，幾位校長忽然掉下了眼淚」。李金池說，對方稱是激動的，「你們學生有一股子壓倒一切的氣勢」。
老師開會「偷偷閱卷」
「五一」、「十一」以及周末，衡水的老師基本不能休息；亦有老師稱「感覺很幸福」
王亞玉是去年河北省的理科高考狀元，她說其實我沒什麼特別，在衡水中學，真正值得關注的是那些老師。
衡水中學的老師，每月工資三四千元，超過當地公務員。老師們說，這份薪水建立在近乎公務員兩倍工作時間之上。
備課很重要。因學生大部分時間是自習，每門課每天一節正課40分鍾，老師們需要在極短時間內講清楚必講內容。
從學生早讀開始，任課老師就要進入工作狀態。如果是班主任，工作時間還要提前，有的要陪學生跑早操。
每天下午5點半下班，之後至晚上9點半，是老師們的彈性工作時間。
除了備課，老師們要出很多習題，並判卷。為了了解習題的深淺，老師要把習題都做一遍。
「經常看到老師在學校開大會時，偷偷在下面閱卷。」一名語文老師說。
除高考、暑假和春節，在「五一」、「十一」以及周末，老師們基本不能休息。一位女老師對自己婚禮上情形記憶猶新：丈夫的同事都來了，留給自己同事的座位都空著。「紅包到了，人來不了，因為實在走不開。」
信金煥在衡中任教18年，去年剛被評為特級教師。她說一評上特教，馬上收到了北京朝陽區的邀請函，承諾解決全家北京戶口，提供住房，安排丈夫工作和孩子就讀。
她拒絕了邀請。她說自己不到40歲就評上特級教師「是學校看得起」，而且「在這里感覺很幸福」。
衡水中學副校長王建勇說，學校計劃進行「最美婆婆」評選，表揚那些支持兒媳婦工作的婆婆們。
踐踏教育成就高考？
「衡水」軍事化備考亦引發爭議；專家稱，只要高考不改，衡水模式就會存在
「衡水現象」，吸引了周邊地市的大量「尖子生」前來就讀，甚至還有北京的學生。
記者了解到，北京在高考自主命題前，有很多北京學生來衡水中學讀書，如今仍有個別北京學生。
據介紹，河北其他地方的一些校長和教育主管部門負責人，一邊向衡水學習，一邊向省里寫信舉報。他們認為，衡水跨區域招生，影響教育均衡。
河北省教育廳基礎教育處正處級調研員李強，專注高中教育研究10多年了。他說他理解其他地市的苦衷：「尖子」走了，升學率受影響。
李強介紹，2003年以來，河北省教育廳出台過限制措施，不過這些規定其實「底氣不足」。「我們考慮的是，規范一下秩序，大家不要亂來。」
李強說，他也私下「敲打」那些「告狀的」學校：你們那的孩子都跑了，他們背井離鄉到別的地方求學，付出了更多的成本，這是你們的罪過。
在學生們往衡水跑的同時，「衡水模式」也備受爭議。批評的聲音認為，軍事化的備考，題海戰術，讓學生麻木，扼殺創造力。
上述邢台的高中老師認為，「衡中的教學模式嚴重踐踏了中國的高中教育」，但讓他矛盾的是，在目前的考試模式下，「誰不學衡中，誰就將被徹底淘汰」。
衡中的教學模式逐漸在衡水其他學校推廣開來。
該模式下，一所學校的高考奇跡，演變為整個衡水所有中學的高考佳績。
在衡水市，衡水二中以及冀州、武邑、棗強等縣級中學，每年也都有約5人考入清華、北大。
李強認為，衡水現象與衡水的「鹽鹼地文化」有關。衡水什麼自然資源都沒有，只有鹽鹼地，「考學是唯一一條出路」。
李強說，衡水人很能吃苦，「我都感覺老師很苦，但是他們內心很愉悅，這是衡水高考好的基礎條件」。
李強說，上世紀90年代時，他去衡水一個縣級中學調研，看到學生們的學習勁頭，差點掉淚。
縣委書記給這所中學送了塊匾，上書「人才的搖籃」。但李強並不認同：你別說培養的是人才，充其量只是一個大學生的加工廠。
李強認為，目前高考只顧及了人才培養的某一方面，標準是分數，而高中教育中，訓練越多，錯誤越少，扣分就越少。「衡水現象」最大的特徵就是，「對高考這個目標的管理特別有效」。
河北省教育廳一名工作人員認為，衡水適應了目前的高考制度，只要高考不改，這個模式就會存在。
但在李強看來，現在衡水的情況已發生變化。他說當地也發現存在的問題，並且在調整辦學方式。
■ 衡中口號
衡水中學，隨處可見標語口號。它們分布在校園路上，教學樓大廳里的倒計時牌上，學生宿舍，甚至學校印刷的筆記本上也有。班級牆上的標語有，「血狼精神，與我同在」，「今日瘋狂，明日輝煌」。
在高二年級教學樓，大廳牆上有三句話：「我來衡中做什麼，我要做一個什麼樣的人，我今天做得怎麼樣。」這被稱為每日「三思」。
跑操時喊的口號：「超越自我，挑戰極限」、「放飛青春，勇攀高峰」、「自強不息，志與天齊」，班級旗幟上的標語是「為夢想浴血奮戰」。
衡中口號每年都不一樣，2011年的標語和2010年就不同，其倒計時牌上寫著，「十二載潛心鑄劍，今朝及鋒而試」；樓道上的橫幅則是，「萬念歸一，用虔誠追求夢想」。
有學生說，學校的氛圍讓他覺得，不好好學習，對不起同學。
