完型填空其實就是一個兩百多個單詞量的閱讀，既然是閱讀就離不開詞彙的積累、辨析及使用等。詞彙的辨析和使用占完型出題量的百分之六、七十左右，是最重的部分。所以，考前詞彙的准備對完型填空顯得尤為重要。

解題時先跳過空格，通讀完形填空的短文，了解全篇的內容和要旨。要重視首句，善於以首句的時態、語氣為立足點，理清文脈，推測全文主題及大意。

把握短文大意後再認真復讀短文，利用上下文的語境，結合所學過的知識，先確定空格處所需詞語的意義，再根據空格在句子中的位置，判斷其在句中充當的成分，從而確定所填詞的詞性，再依據詞語搭配和語法規則，判斷所填的詞的正確形式。
