（一） 閱讀前——鋪墊背景知識pre-reading

英語閱讀教學發生在課內與課外兩個場所。教學的主渠道應該是在課堂，因為課堂中的課文教學是培養學生閱讀能力的重要方式。在教學中，教師能引導學生如何從文字信息中獲取事實、觀點和信息；如何理解不同的觀點和態度；如何欣賞；如何評價等等。同時還能指導學生如何使用工具書等。根據課標的要求，閱讀能力的培養應「源」於課內，「流」向課外。即以課堂教學為軸心展開外延性拓展，通過經常性的閱讀積累，鞏固、擴大詞彙量，提高學生的閱讀速度和理解的准確度，逐步形成良好的語感以及閱讀習慣和能力。
