做英語閱讀理解的時候要注意:閱讀時不要逐字逐句的翻譯,也不要一句話反復閱讀,即閱讀時碰到一時不理解的句子就一遍一遍地沉浸在閱讀那個句子當中,反復琢磨。其實完全沒有必要,因為要選對答案並不意味著對原文的每個句子都要讀懂,抓住一些重點句子就夠了,正確的做法是,以理解整個段落和整篇文章為主,在涵蓋出題點的句子上用心捉摸。

從近幾年泰州英語中考試題分析來看,閱讀量逐年增加、閱讀難度不斷提高,這就意味著對閱讀速度的要求越來越高。因而作為教者,我們必須有清醒的認識和充分的准備,要高度重視學生英語閱讀速度的問題。
筆者現就影響學生閱讀速度的因素及措施談以下幾點觀點:
一、學生沒有養成恰當的閱讀習慣
閱讀時手指字、出聲閱讀等習慣,影響閱讀速度。要養成以「意群」為閱讀單位的良好習慣。即不是以單詞為閱讀單位,而是由單片語成的表意單位。另外,要培養學生堅持閱讀的能力,切忌三天打魚兩天曬網,做到日常閱讀堅持不懈,學生得多接觸語篇材料,認真而帶有目的性地閱讀,長此以往必將培養學生正確的閱讀習慣。
二、詞彙儲備量不夠,造成閱讀過程中的生詞障礙
在平時的學習中,要充分重視單詞的復習、運用,不斷熟悉考綱內單詞,掌握必備的構詞方法,留意英語中的一詞多義現象。日常教學中注意培養學生的猜譯能力,引導學生平時擴大自己的閱讀量,在閱讀中練習,不斷地開拓自己的視野,豐富自己的閱讀知識。
三、語言文化基礎弱,遇到相對長的句子和難的結構,束手無策
從近幾年的中考試題看,結構復雜的成分和繁瑣的語言現象在語篇結構中隨處可見,文章的文字難度加大了閱讀的難度。
在英文學習中,要重視培養和提高閱讀較難文章的能力,要熟諳英語句子的基本類型和了解各種從句知識,從而迅速理清句子的結構和脈絡,逐層弄情句子的內容。當然,為提高速度,有時不必理解整個長句,只需抓住該句的關鍵詞和所需信息即可。
四、漠視閱讀方法和技巧,在與題目無關的字里行間「停歇」
隨著學生閱讀量的增加,信息量相應增大,故而要講究必須的閱讀方法和技巧。無論語篇長短,要學會抓主題句和分清需要的細節信息。若遇到生詞,要運用構詞法和上下文關系等語境,推測含義,做到膽大心細。同時要對作者的寫作意圖和目的大致了解。
根據不同題材的文章要採取不同的閱讀方法。如,講故事的記敘文,可採取順讀法,充分理解文章大意,一般來說,此類文章較易理解;再如學術性的應用文及篇幅較長的文章,可採取逆讀法,即先看文後的題干,從而帶著目的去閱讀文章,從語篇中找出相關內容。
五、加大閱讀量,促使學生量變到質變
許多學生閱讀能力差,較易做錯閱讀理解題,就是因為閱讀面窄,英語背景知識少,所以在日常教學中得為學生精選一批好的閱讀材料,有計劃地安排學生閱讀並鼓勵他們訂閱英文類報刊、雜志等。待其看到優美的句子和篇章可摘錄下來,正確理解和分析這些對於提高閱讀效果、增強閱讀能力是大有裨益的!功夫在平時,水滴石穿!
六、幫助學生學習堅持用英文寫作
根據語篇內容,培養學生連詞成句、看圖說話、縮寫文章的能力。教者得及時批改並評講,這對於學生發展思維、靈活運用所學知識,充分了解句子結構師非常有幫助的,同時也在潛移默化中鍛煉了學生閱讀學習的能力,大大促進了學生閱讀水平的提高!
終上所述,學生在平時的閱讀訓練中,只有加強訓練、綜合運用多種閱讀方法和技巧,做到膽大心細,英文閱讀速度就一定會有顯著提高!
