武漢火神山醫院位於武漢市蔡甸區知音湖大道，是參照2003年抗擊非典期間「北京小湯山醫院」模版式，權在武漢職工療養院，建設一座專門醫院，集中收治新型冠狀病毒肺炎患者。

醫院總建築面積3.39萬平方米，編設床位1000張，開設重症監護病區、重症病區、普通病區，設置感染控制、檢驗、特診、放射診斷等輔助科室，不設門診。

2020年1月29日，武漢火神山醫院建設已進入病房安裝攻堅期；2020年2月2日上午，武漢火神山醫院正式交付。從方案設計到建成交付僅用10天，被譽為中國速度。
