中考語文、數學、英語、物理、化學、政治、歷史等科目十個等級劃分方式為:A(95—100分)、B(90—94分)、C(85—89分)、D(80—84分)、E(75—79分)、F(70—74分)、G(60—69分)、H(50—59分)、I(40—49分)、J(39分以下)。

目前在國內,中考成績的呈現主要有兩種方式,傳統的方式是分數制,將所有學科的分數加起來,以總成績的形式,供各高中錄取時參考。比較新的形式是等級制,將學生每科的成績分為不同層級,然後再按照層級要求進行錄取。進行分數改革為等級制的理由是,通過等級制,可以更精準的對初三畢業生進行分層,也可以防止初中學生偏科,促進學生的全面均衡發展。

以前的總分制,主要優勢是簡單易用。各高中學校在錄取時,直接按照總成績的高低進行排序,錄滿為止。應該說,實行多年以來,總體上還是比較科學合理的。

分數制還有一個好處,就是可以讓偏科的孩子得到一定的補償。有些孩子天生文科好,語文、政治、歷史這些科目隨便都能考高分,但是理化生就是考不好。也有一些天生理科強,文科差。實行總分制,就可以通過優勢學科拉升一下劣勢學科的缺陷,對那些偏科的孩子是有好處的。
