A Woodman came into a forest to ask the Trees to give him a handle for Ax. It seemed so modest a request that the principal tree at once agreed to it, and it was settled among them that the plain, homely Ash should furnish what was wanted.
No sooner had the Woodman fitted the staff to his purpose ,than he began laying about him on all side. felling the whole matter too late, whispered to the Cedar: "the first concession has lost all ;if we has not a sacrificed our humble neighbor, we might have yet stood for ages ourselves."
譯文：
有一個樵夫來到森林裡，要求樹給他一跟斧柄，看來他的請求非常謙虛，立刻得到了樹的首領的同意。他們決定由平凡而樸素的白楊樹來提供所需要的東西。樵夫剛按好斧柄，就開始到處亂砍，森林裡最高的樹都砍倒了，樹林現在察覺大勢已去，就小聲對衫樹說："第一次的讓步已失去了一切。如果我們不犧牲我們的小小的鄰居，我們自己還可以活無數年呢。"

1。The City Mouse and the Country Mouse
Once there were two mice. They were friends. One mouse lived in the country; the other mouse lived in the city. After many years the Country mouse saw the City mouse; he said, "Do come and see me at my house in the country." So the City mouse went. The City mouse said, "This food is not good, and your house is not good. Why do you live in a hole in the field? You should come and live in the city. You would live in a nice house made of stone. You would have nice food to eat. You must come and see me at my house in the city."
The Country mouse went to the house of the City mouse. It was a very good house. Nice food was set ready for them to eat. But just as they began to eat they heard a great noise. The City mouse cried, " Run! Run! The cat is coming!" They ran away quickly and hid.
After some time they came out. When they came out, the Country mouse said, "I do not like living in the city. I like living in my hole in the field. For it is nicer to be poor and happy, than to be rich and afraid."
2。The Old Cat
An old woman had a cat. The cat was very old; she could not run quickly, and she could not bite, because she was so old. One day the old cat saw a mouse; she jumped and caught the mouse. But she could not bite it; so the mouse got out of her mouth and ran away, because the cat could not bite it.
Then the old woman became very angry because the cat had not killed the mouse. She began to hit the cat. The cat said, "Do not hit your old servant. I have worked for you for many years, and I would work for you still, but I am too old. Do not be unkind to the old, but remember what good work the old did when they were young."

哇~必須是新概念啊...現在挺後悔當初沒有好好學的... 新概念2很好~~就是可能英音版回得聽力有點費勁,畢竟國答內都是美音教材.不過貌似也有美音版.這個教材很經典而且也是地道的表達方式.
如果有興趣的話 可以聽聽雅思劍橋系列聽力的SECTION1和2部分,也是比較基礎的...
可以跟讀和聽寫.然後改錯很重要.
剛開始的時候可能很痛苦,不過只要堅持2個月以上,聽力就會突飛猛進的~至少中考高考英語聽力肯定不成問題~

收聽中國國際廣播電台的英語廣播
中國國際廣播電台（China Radio International）每天早上7:00--8:00，中午11:00--12:00各有一小時的英語節目。內容包括國內外新聞，剪報集錦和各類系列的專題報道。除了英語標准流利的國內播音員擔任廣播之外，也有向外僑或訪客就某一話題而做的錄音訪問。內容廣泛，但詞彙較簡單，語速亦適中，可以藉此訓練或增進英語的聽力。
善用錄音帶鍛煉聽說能力
有些學習者總是習慣於一邊看書一邊聽磁帶，把磁帶當成閱讀的輔助工具，這樣打不到鍛煉聽力的目的。錄音帶應該是以聽說能力的訓練為主。學習者要選用與自己能力相適應的聽力磁帶，不要急於求成，以免產生受挫心理。先反復聆聽磁帶內容，起先只要抓住梗概，多聽幾次後，對細節的了解便越來越多。聽力較差的人，可先閱讀課文，然後再集中精力領會每段每句的意思。這樣練習有助於培養傾聽時注意力的集中，使您的聽力迅速進步。
聽正常語速的英語，才能加速聽力的進步
很多廣播教學和聽力教材總是為了配合聽眾或學習者的程度而故意放慢語速，這雖是無可厚非的變通方法，但也會產生一些不良的副作用。例如：1.聽慣了語速放慢的英語，在與外國人的實際交往中，就很難適應，甚至聽不懂他們用正常語速講的英語。2. 故意放慢語速時，通常會把一句中每個詞都清楚的讀出來，但在正常的會話中會出現很多同化（assimilation），減弱（rection），連音（liaision）的現象。所以，聽語速正常的英語對於聽力和會話極為重要。

這個里資源蠻多的 。。初中水平的聽力資料應該也有。個人建議你聽VOA慢速英語。。語速是比較慢的。。但是可能就是有點生詞吧。。也有文字材料，因為是新聞哈。還有一個是美語咖啡屋。。。裡面是中英語語講的。。比VOA要有趣一些的。。那裡的資料都可以免費下載。。有一部分只能在線聽的。。不過也挺不錯的。。
提高聽力的方法。。就是多聽吧。。剛開始的時候如果聽不太懂不要急。。先盲聽都可以。。就是先把耳朵熟悉英語的環境，平時在家就可以把電腦打開放著，從聽懂單詞到句子，然後慢慢聽懂更多的東西。
還有跟聽力緊緊相關的是單詞量，不說也應該曉得吧。。聽的再清楚，不知道意思那也是白聽啊。。。具體的我也就不說太多來。。那個網站上也有很多方法介紹。。有論壇什麼的 ，，可以進去看看啊。。
