1、否定.當中需要注意的是否定詞not的否定范圍和帶有否定詞的肯定句.否定詞not的否定范圍是指,not和all,both,everyone,everything一起使用,通常不表示完全否定,而表示部分否定；表示完全否定要用no,neither(與both相對應),none,nothing,not...any等；主句中的否定詞有時否定主句,有時否定從句,判定這種否定,要依據上下文來理解；believe,expect,imagine,seem,suppose,think等動詞後帶賓語從句時,賓語從句的謂語否定詞not有時轉移到主句,例如He doesn't think Roger is fit for the job.（=He thinks Roger is not fit for the job）他認為羅傑不適合干那個工作.

提高學生英語閱讀理解能力一般有兩個途徑，一個是通過課堂閱讀教學，二是通過廣泛的課外閱讀活動。其實不然，「閱讀理解」題目只是一種量化標准和測試手段。由於受到提醒因素的多重製約，同時由於我們平時接觸到的閱讀理解題目中，有些題目本身就不夠科學和准確，存在這樣那樣的問題，以至對學生產生誤導。學生的思路受到題目狹小范圍的限制，常有「做錯題」的困擾，故而閱讀活動索然無味，也就失去了興趣。這種答題的過程往往是一種被動適應題型的活動，而不是真正意義上的閱讀活動。而且，一味地做閱讀理解題目，學生很容易形成一種思維定勢，認為閱讀的目的就是答對後面的題目。猶豫閱讀每篇文章都有不同的含義，不像語法有規則可循，所以學生在屢次受到打擊後，對閱讀理解題會有一種盲然不知所措的感覺。毫無自信地做閱讀理解題目，更不可能會有興趣去做大量的課外閱讀了，提高閱讀理解能力也成了空談。

那麼，提高英語聽說讀寫的重要性，還能通過自身的實踐，認真體會，積極思考和親身體驗，提高一定的語感，才能有效地提高聽說和閱讀理解能力。

在英語聽說中，要注意遵循模仿性與創造性相結合的原則，因為語言學習需要模仿，但不僅僅使模仿，每個人說的話與別人說的話，以及同一個人在不同的時間，不同的地點，不同的場合下對不同的對象講的話是不可能完全一樣的。
