1. 傳統英語語法將句子結構分成五種:主謂結構,主系表結構,主謂賓結構,主謂雙賓語結構,主謂復合賓語(賓語+賓語補足語)結構。為了方便大家記憶和理解,我將這五種結構歸納為基本的兩種,其他三種為其兩種擴展的結構。

>> 主謂賓結構:

* 主語:可以作主語的成分有名詞(如boy),代詞主格(如you),動詞不定式,動名詞等。主語一般在句首。注意名詞單數形式常和冠詞不分家!
* 謂語:謂語由動詞構成,是英語時態、語態變化的主角,一般在主語之後。不及物動詞(vi.)沒有賓語,形成主謂結構,如:We come.
* 賓語:賓語位於及物動詞之後,一般同主語構成一樣,不同的是構成賓語的代詞必須是『代詞賓格』,如:me,him,them等
* 例:The boy needs a pen.主語the boy,謂語needs(need的第三人稱單數形式),賓語a pen.

2). 特殊疑問句

特殊疑問句:以疑問代詞或疑問副詞開頭,提出疑問的句子。
它的基本結構是:特殊疑問詞+一般疑問句語序。

常用的疑問詞有:what, who(whom), whose,which,when,where,how,wh等.
1)對指物名詞或謂語動詞提出疑問,疑問詞用what
2)對名詞前定語提出疑問,疑問詞應用which,而且必須和名詞連用。
3)對指人名詞或代詞提問用who,作賓語時提問用whom。
4)對物主代詞和名詞所有格提問用whose。
eg. Li Ping』s coat→Whose coat my father→Whose father
5)對具體時間提出疑問,如 in the morning,last Sunday等,疑問詞when;
6)對具體地點提出疑問,疑問詞應用where。
7)對表原因的從句提問,常見的有because引導的從句,疑問詞應用why。
8)對方式或程度等提出疑問,用疑問詞How。

>> 何謂主系表結構:所謂主系表結構就是英語句子中的主要成分是主語、系動詞和表語。

初學英語的人常常感到在掌握一些英語單詞和基本語法後,在英語說和寫方面還是很難表達自己,筆者認為其中一個原因是沒有掌握一些英語句型,只有掌握了一些句型才能比較正確、完整地表達自己。下面是筆者收集的一些常用句型。

1. 否定句型

1) 一般否定句

I don't know this. No news is good news.

There is no person (smoke)/not a person/not any person (smoke) in the house.

2)特指否定

He went to his office, not to see him.

I am sorry for not coming on time.

I don't think/believe/suppose/feel/imagine you are right.

3)部分否定

All the answers are not right

All is not gold that glitters

I don't know all of them.

I can't see everybody/everything.

Both of them are not right.

4)全體否定

None of my friends smoke.

I can see nothing/nobody.

Neither of them is right.

Nothing can be so simple as this.

5) 延續否定

You didn't see him, neither/nor did I.

You don't know, I don't know either.

He doesn't know English, let alone/to say nothing of/not to speak of (更不用說) French.

6) 半否定句

We seldom/hardly/scarcely/barely hear such fine singing.

I know little English. I saw few people.

7) 雙重否定

You can't make something out of nothing.

What's done cannot be undone.

There is no sweet without sweat.

No gain without pains.

I can't help /keep/ laughing whenever I hear it.

8)排除否定

1) 一般判斷句

3)弱式判斷

Your sentence doesn't sound/look/appear/feel right.

4) 注釋判斷

He can remember so many English words, that is (to say) he is a living dictionary.(活字典)

5) 正反判斷

7) 互斥判斷

Either he is right or I am.

1) 一般句式

1) 表數目

3)表年齡

He is 20 years old/years of age.

He is at the age of 10.

4)表倍數

It is four times that of last years.

5)表計量

1)兩項關連

I have two books, one is Chinese; the other English.

2)先後順序

First/firstly, I wish good health, second/secondly success in your study, third/thirdly good luck in everything.

3)修飾限制

This is the same book as I lost yesterday.

4) 兩項連接

1) 一般事實

2)虛擬條件句

3)反條件句

此句型的句子有一個共同特點:謂語動詞必須跟有兩個賓語才能表達完整的意思。這兩個賓語一個是動作的直接承受者,另一個是動作的間接承受者。
通常這一間接承受者用一個介詞來連接,當動作的間接承受者在動作的直接承受者之前時,這一介詞往往被省略。

但常用的英語句子並不都象基本句型這樣簡短,這些句子除了基本句型的

成分不變外,通常是在這些成分的前面或後面增加一些修飾語(modifier)而

加以擴大。這些修飾語可以是單詞(主要是形容詞、副詞和數詞),也可以是

各種類型的短語(主要是介詞短語、不定式短語和分詞短語)。下面以基本句

型五為例:

We found the hall full.

我們發現禮堂坐滿了。

We found the great hall full of students and teachers.

我們發現大禮堂坐滿了學生和教師。

We found the great hall full of students and teachers listen-

ing to an important report.

不同的動詞使用的句型也不盡一樣,因此在學習動詞時,應掌握動詞的類

型。以 get 為例:

He's getting angry. (S V C)

He got through the window. (S V M)

You'll get a surprise. (S V O)

He got his shoes and socks wet. (S V O C)

He got himself into trouble. (S V O M)
