英語動詞可有三種不同的語氣：陳述語氣、祈使語氣和虛擬語氣。
A. 陳述語氣：陳述一個事實，或提出一個看法，有肯定、否定、疑問或感嘆等形式。

B. 祈使語氣：表示請求、邀請、命令、警告或勸告等。

考點1. wish之後的賓語從句中用虛擬語氣
hope後面跟賓語從句時，只能用陳述語氣：
I hope you will have a good trip there.
wish後面跟從句時只能用虛擬語氣，表示「願望」，與事實相反或實現可能性不大。
本來是一般現在時的，要用成一般過去時；本來是一般過去時的，要用成過去完成時。
① I wish I rememberedthe address.
我希望我記得那個地址。（實際不記得，與現在相反）
② I wish you had written to him.
我希望你已給他寫過信了。（實際沒寫，與過去相反）
③ I wish you would stop asking silly questions.
我希望你停止問愚蠢問題。（表達願望，與將來相反）
hope與wish的其他用法：
wish和hope後面都可以跟不定式作賓語。
We hope to raise as much money as possible.
They wish to begin immediately after dinner.
wish後面可以跟雙賓語和復合賓語，而hope不可以。
I wish you a happy birthday. 我祝你生日快樂。
I wish you to be happy. 我希望你幸福。

表示現在的情況，應用過去時；表示過去的情況，應用過去完成時態。if only 也可用於陳述語氣。

would rather後接句子時，句子謂語習慣上要用虛擬語氣。表示與現在或將來相反的願望時，從句用一般過去時。

表示與過去相反的願望時用過去完成時。
