單詞嘛，不多，也就5000個，至於語法主要以句式結構，從句<定語從句，賓語從句，表語從句，狀語從句，主語從句和強調句為主要>，以及虛擬語氣，時態<一般過去時，一般現在時，一般將來時，過去將來時，現在完成時，過去完成時，將來完成時，過去將來完成時，現在進行時為主>.這是初中主要要掌握的。

選了10種語法、句式,不知是否有幫助.
1.1 stop doing/to do
stop to do 停止，中斷做某事後去做另一件事。
stop doing 停止做某事。
They stop to smoke a cigarette. 他們停下來，抽了根煙。
I must stop smoking. 我必須戒煙了。
2.forget doing/to do
forget to do 忘記要去做某事。 (未做)
forget doing 忘記做過某事。 (已做)
The light in the office is stil on. He forgot to turn it off.
辦公室的燈還在亮著，它忘記關了。(沒有做關燈的動作)
He forgot turning the light off.
他忘記他已經關了燈了。 ( 已做過關燈的動作)
Don't forget to come tomorrow.
別忘了明天來。 (to come動作未做)
3.go on doing/to do
go on to do 做了一件事後，接著做另一件事。
go on doing 繼續做原來做的事。
After he had finished his maths，he went on to do his physics.
做完數學後，他接著去做物理。
Go on doing the other exercise after you have finished this one.
作完這個練習後，接著做其他的練習
4.感官動詞 + doing/to do
感官動詞 see, watch, observe, notice, look at, hear, listen to, smell, taste, feel + do 表示動作的完整性，真實性；+doing 表示動作的連續性，進行性
I saw him work in the garden yesterday.
昨天我看見他在花園里幹活了。(強調"我看見了"這個事實)
I saw him working in the garden yesterday.（強調"我見他正幹活"這個動作）
昨天我見他正在花園里幹活。
典型例題
1）They knew her very well. They had seen her ___ up from childhood.
A. grow B. grew C. was growing D. to grow
答案：A。因題意為，他們看著她長大，因此強調的是成長的過程，而非正在長的動作，因此用see sb do sth 的句型。
2）The missing boy was last seen ___ near the river.
A. playing B. to be playing C. play D. to play
答案A. 本題強調其動作，正在河邊玩，應此用see sb. doing sth句型。
5.used to / be used to
used to + do："過去常常"表示過去習慣性的動作或狀態，但如今已不存在。
Mother used not to be so forgetful.
Scarf used to take a walk. (過去常常散步)
be used to + doing： 對……已感到習慣，或"習慣於"，to是介詞，後需加名詞或動名詞。
He is used to a vegetarian diet.
Scarf is used to taking a walk.(現在習慣於散步)
典型例題
---- Your phone number again? I ___ quite catch it.
---- It's 69568442.
A. didn't B. couldn't C. don't D. can't
答案A. 本句雖沒有明確的時間狀語，但從語意上看 出，在聽的時候沒有聽懂這個動作發生在過去，因此應用過去時。
6.need/want/require/worth
注意：當 need, want, require, worth(形容詞)後面接doing也可以表示被動。
Your hair wants cutting. 你的頭發該理了。
The floor requires washing. 地板需要沖洗。
The book is worth reading. 這本書值得一讀。
典型例題
The library needs___, but it'll have to wait until Sunday.
A. cleaning B. be cleaned C. clean D. being cleaned
答案A. need (實意) +n /to do，need (情態)+ do，當為被動語態時，還可need + doing. 本題考最後一種用法，選A。如有to be clean 則也為正確答案。
典：done，"不可能已經"。must not do 不可以（用於一般現在時)。
7.so, neither, nor作部分倒裝
表示"也"、"也不" 的句子要部分倒裝。
Tom can speak French. So can Jack.
If you won't go, neither will I.
典型例題
---Do you know Jim quarrelled with his brother?
---I don't know, _____.
A. nor don't I care B. nor do I care C. I don't care neither D. I don't care also
答案：B. nor為增補意思"也不關心"，因此句子應倒裝。A錯在用 don't 再次否定， C neither 用法不對且缺乏連詞。 D缺乏連詞。
注意： 當so引出的句子用以對上文內容加以證實或肯定時，不可用倒裝結構。意為"的確如此"。
Tom asked me to go to play football and so I did.
---It's raining hard. ---So it is.
8.as, though 引導的倒裝句
as / though引導的讓步從句必須將表語或狀語提前 （形容詞, 副詞, 分詞, 實義動詞提前）。
注意：
1) 句首名詞不能帶任何冠詞。
2) 句首是實義動詞, 其他助動詞放在主語後。如果實義動詞有賓語和狀語, 隨實義動詞一起放在主語之前。
Try hard as he will, he never seems able to do the work satisfactorily.
注意:
讓步狀語從句中，有though，although時，後面的主句不能有but，但是 though 和yet可連用。
9.比較if only與only if
only if表示"只有"；if only則表示"如果……就好了"。If only也可用於陳述語氣。
I wake up only if the alarm clock rings. 只有鬧鍾響了，我才會醒。
If only the alarm clock had rung. 當時鬧鍾響了，就好了。
If only he comes early. 但願他早點回來。
10.begin(start) doing/to do
begin / start to do sth
begin / start doing sth.
1) 談及一項長期活動或開始一種習慣時，使用doing.
How old were you when you first started playing the piano?
你幾歲時開始彈鋼琴？
2) begin, start用進行時時，後面動詞用不定式to do
I was beginning to get angry。
我開始生起氣來。
3) 在attempt, intend, begin, start 後接know, understand, realize這類動詞時，常用不定式to do。
I begin to understand the truth。
我開始明白真相。
4) 物作主語時
It began to melt.
